KAP 단백질은 아미노산 조성에 따라 고황(high sulfur), 초고황(ultrahigh sulfur), 고티로신/글리신(high tyrosine/glycine) KAP으로 구분됩니다.
KRTAP9-2는 초고황 KAP 패밀리에 속하며, 해당 유전자는 17q12-q21 영역의 KAP 클러스터에 위치합니다.
