Target Information
The CTNNBL1 gene encodes a protein that is part of the pre-mRNA-processing factor 19–cell division cycle 5-like (PRP19-CDC5L) complex, which activates pre-mRNA splicing and is integral to the spliceosome.
It also acts as a nuclear localization sequence binding protein, interacts with activation-induced deaminase, and plays a role in antibody diversification.
This gene may be linked to obesity development, and alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants. A pseudogene exists on the X chromosome.
Diseases associated with CTNNBL1 include Immunodeficiency 99 with Hypogammaglobulinemia and Autoimmune Cytopenias.
