The Human MMP-9 Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures MMP-9 protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits to create a custom multiplex panel utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation. When combining multiple Simplex kits, only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on sandwich ELISA principles, using two highly specific antibodies binding to different epitopes of one protein to quantify multiple protein targets simultaneously via a Luminex instrument.
These assays require as little as 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, and deliver analyzed results within four hours.

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single small-volume sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other fluids.

Each Luminex bead is dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores to create spectrally unique signatures identifiable by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).
Matched antibody pairs identify the target protein, and bound proteins are detected via biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).
Unlike ELISA, the capture antibody is conjugated to a bead rather than adsorbed to a microplate well, allowing free-floating reagents and efficient multiplexing.

The Luminex instrument uses two lasers — one to identify bead signatures and another to quantify RPE fluorescence proportional to protein concentration.
ProcartaPlex multiplex assays enable profiling of more target proteins using less sample in the same time as a traditional ELISA.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available across six species (human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, canine).
