Target Information
Sperm binding proteins and their C-terminal peptides of the Sperm Associated Antigen 11 (SPAG11) family play an important role in epididymal innate immunity and sperm maturation. SPAG11 peptides, resulting from cleavage at the furin-like proprotein convertase motif, are found in epididymal fluid, ejaculate, and sperm, exhibiting antimicrobial activity. SPAG11A, also known as EP2 or HE2, has four isoforms produced by alternative splicing.
