Product Specific Information
According to customer data, this antibody detects pure human PKD2 and endogenous PKD2 in resting neonatal rat cardiac fibroblasts. It reacts weakly in resting neonatal rat cardiomyocytes but does not detect PKD2 in PMA-stimulated rat cells or pure phosphorylated PKD2.
Target Information
PRKD2 (Protein Kinase D2) is a member of the protein kinase D serine/threonine kinase family. It participates in signal transduction pathways induced by phorbol esters and the CCKB gastrin receptor. PRKD2 shares strong homology with PKD/PKCμ and PKCν, particularly in the cysteine-rich zinc finger-like motif, pleckstrin homology domain, and kinase domain, but shows low similarity to other PKC family members.
