Target Information
NUBP1 is a component of the cytosolic iron-sulfur (Fe/S) protein assembly (CIA) machinery, essential for the maturation of extramitochondrial Fe-S proteins. The NUBP1–NUBP2 heterotetramer forms an Fe-S scaffold complex that mediates de novo assembly of Fe-S clusters and their transfer to target apoproteins. It is also implicated in centrosome duplication regulation and negatively regulates cilium formation and structure.
