Target Information
EPHB1 is a receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the ephrin receptor family. Members of this family play key roles in biological processes such as nervous system development, angiogenesis, and synapse formation. EphB1 and other EphB family members are type I transmembrane proteins containing immunoglobulin, fibronectin type III, and cysteine-rich domains in the extracellular region, and a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase domain upstream of a SAM (sterile alpha motif) domain. EphB1 binds ephrin B1, a transmembrane ligand capable of bidirectional signaling. EphB1 is mainly expressed in developing neural structures and vascular epithelium of the kidney and other tissues, mediating cell attachment and assembly regulation. These proteins are implicated in neuronal and vascular cell targeting.
