Target Information
TESK1 (Testis-Specific Kinase 1) is a serine/threonine kinase containing an N-terminal protein kinase domain and a C-terminal proline-rich domain, which is closely related to those of LIM motif-containing protein kinases (LIMKs). TESK1 can phosphorylate myelin basic protein and histone in vitro and plays a key role during and after the meiotic phase of spermatogenesis. It is mainly expressed in testicular germ cells.
