Target Information
Semaphorins are neuronal chemorepellents that guide pioneering neurons during nervous system development.
CD100 (also known as semaphorin 4D), a 150 kDa homodimer, induces B cell aggregation and enhances viability in vitro.
It modifies CD40-CD40L B cell signaling by promoting aggregation and survival while downregulating CD23 expression.
CD72 acts as a lymphocyte receptor for class IV semaphorin CD100, regulating B cell signaling.
CD100 is expressed on resting and PHA-stimulated T cells, weakly on NK cells, EBV-transformed B cells, monocytes, and tumor/peripheral blood T cell lines, and more strongly on activated T and B cells.
