NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase (complex I)는 미토콘드리아 내막에 위치한 다단백 복합체로, NADH로부터 유비퀴논으로 전자를 전달하면서 미토콘드리아 기질에서 막간 공간으로 프로톤을 이동시킵니다.
Human complex I는 약 41개의 서브유닛으로 구성되어 있으며, 일부는 미토콘드리아 유전자(서브유닛 1–7)에 의해 암호화되고 나머지는 핵에서 암호화되어 세포질에서 수입됩니다.
NADH dehydrogenase subunit 3 (ND3)는 complex I의 소수성 단백질 부분에 위치하며, ND3 유전자의 돌연변이는 파킨슨병과 관련될 수 있습니다.
