MPP3는 MAGUKs (membrane-associated guanylate kinase homologs) 패밀리의 구성원으로, 세포골격과 상호작용하며 세포 증식, 신호전달, 세포 내 접합을 조절합니다. 이 단백질은 SH3 (src homology 3) 모티프를 포함하며, 세포골격과 관련된 여러 단백질과 결합하여 신호전달에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 대체 스플라이싱된 전사 변형체가 보고되었으며, 하나는 실험적으로 확인되었지만 단백질을 암호화하지 않습니다.
