Product Specific Information

The 3B2/TA8 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD99, also known as E2 antigen and MIC2. CD99 is an approximately 32 kDa sialoglycoprotein highly expressed by all leukocytes, with little to no expression in granulocytes. It is involved in T cell adhesion and activation.

• Recommended Use: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)

Target Information

CD99 (E2, MIC2) is a transmembrane glycoprotein involved in regulation of T cell adhesive properties and programmed cell death distinct from typical apoptosis. Its roles are specific to certain stages of T cell differentiation such as corticothymocytes. CD99R isoform expression is restricted to T, NK, and myeloid cells within the hematopoietic system.
