Product Specific Information

Description:
SK3 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD4, a 59-kDa cell surface receptor expressed by thymocytes, T helper cells, and monocytes. CD4 acts as a receptor for HIV, and SK3 blocks HIV binding and mixed lymphocyte reaction. SK3 and RPA-T4 antibodies recognize distinct epitopes.

Each product includes:

• 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
• 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells.
Use at 5 µL (0.1 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Important Notes:

• NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., propidium iodide, 7-AAD, DAPI).
• Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability detection.
• CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) must be used with NovaFluor conjugates for optimal staining.
  • Add 5 µL per sample before combining with cells.
  • For single-color controls, use 5 µL per 100 µL of cell sample.

Technology:
NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton technology with engineered fluorescent signatures designed to minimize spillover and spread.

Target Information

CD4 antigen is a co-receptor for HIV and recognizes MHC class II molecules. Expressed mainly in T helper cells, monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
Detected in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and other tissues.
Functions in T-cell activation and neuronal damage mediation in immune-related CNS diseases.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
