배경 (Background)
Focal adhesion은 세포가 세포외기질(ECM)에 부착하는 actin 풍부 구조로, 신호전달 단백질 복합체가 조립되는 장소입니다. Zyxin은 이러한 focal adhesion과 actin 세포골격을 따라 집중되는 아연 결합 인산화 단백질로, N-말단의 proline-rich domain과 C-말단의 세 개의 LIM domain을 포함합니다. Proline-rich domain은 SH3 domain을 가진 신호전달 단백질과 상호작용할 수 있으며, LIM domain은 단백질-단백질 결합에 관여합니다. Zyxin은 부착 자극에 의한 유전자 발현 변화를 매개하는 신호전달 경로에서 messenger 역할을 하며, actin 다발의 세포골격 구조를 조절할 수 있습니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 동일한 isoform을 암호화하는 여러 전사 변이체가 존재합니다. (RefSeq, Jul 2008)
