Background
Ubiquitin은 세포 내 단백질을 26S proteasome을 통해 분해하도록 표적화하는 데 중요한 역할을 하는 고도로 보존된 핵 및 세포질 단백질입니다. 또한 염색질 구조 유지, 유전자 발현 조절 및 스트레스 반응에 관여합니다.
이 유전자는 N말단에 ubiquitin, C말단에 ribosomal protein L40을 포함하는 융합 단백질을 암호화하며, 여러 처리된 pseudogene이 게놈 내에 존재합니다.
