Target Information
ZNF306 is a protein-coding gene functioning as a transcriptional factor that binds to the consensus sequence 5′-[GT][AG][AGT]GGGG-3′ and acts as a repressor of autophagy. It represses expression of autophagy- and lysosome-related genes such as MAP1LC3B, ULK1, and WIPI2.
ZNF306 associates with chromatin at ITGB4 and VEGF promoters. It can also act as a transcription activator, promoting cancer cell progression and migration in various tumors and myelomas.
