Target Information

DAPK3 (ZIPK) is a serine/threonine kinase associated with cell motility, smooth muscle contractility, and cell death. It is a component of desmosomes and the epidermal cornified envelope in keratinocytes.

  • N-terminal domain interacts with the plasma membrane.
  • C-terminal domain interacts with intermediate filaments.
  • Forms complexes with envoplakin through its rod domain.
  • May link the cornified envelope, desmosomes, and intermediate filaments.
  • Interacts with AKT1/PKB, suggesting a role in localization within AKT1-mediated signaling pathways.
