Target Information
TSC22 domain family protein (TSC22D1) is a transcription factor belonging to the early response gene family. It acts as a transcriptional repressor on the C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) promoter and is part of the TSC-22/Dip/Bun family. The protein localizes to both cytoplasm and nucleus, regulating cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis. It modulates Smad3 and Smad4 transcriptional activity, and is expressed broadly in fetal and adult tissues, including aortic endothelial cells. Induced by cytokines such as TGFB, TSC22D1 may serve as a potential therapeutic target in leukemia and prostate cancer research.
