It is associated with the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, a key regulatory network in eukaryotic cells involved in cell survival, growth, and metabolism. The PI3K enzyme generates phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-trisphosphate (PI(3,4,5)P3), which facilitates Akt activation at the plasma membrane.
