Target Information
Bradykinin is a 9 amino acid peptide generated under pathophysiologic conditions such as inflammation, trauma, burns, shock, and allergy. Two G-protein coupled receptors mediate its biological effects. The B1 Bradykinin Receptor is synthesized de novo following tissue injury, and its activation increases cytosolic calcium ion concentration, contributing to both chronic and acute inflammatory responses.
