Target Information

The S-Peptide epitope tag (S-Tag™) is used for analysis of localization, expression detection, and purification of polypeptides from mammalian cells.
Its small size (15 amino acids), ability to purify tagged polypeptides without antibodies, and minimal endogenous reactivity make it an excellent alternative to other epitope tags.

Epitope tagging enables detection and purification of proteins expressed by cloned genes. Expression vectors are engineered to include a nucleotide sequence encoding the peptide tag, allowing fusion protein synthesis. Detection and purification are mediated by antibodies specific to the engineered peptide.
