Target Information
ZDHHC7 is a protein-coding gene functioning as a palmitoyltransferase with broad substrate specificity.
It palmitoylates JAM3, SNAP25, and DLG4/PSD95, as well as sex steroid hormone receptors (ESR1, PGR, AR), regulating their plasma membrane localization and rapid intracellular signaling in response to hormone binding.
ZDHHC7 may also play a role in follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) activation of testicular Sertoli cells.
