Product Specific Information

BTE 002-08-02 is specific for native PICP from human amniotic fluid. Crossreactivity to other species is not determined.

BTE 002-08-02 has been successfully used in ELISA procedures. BTE 002-08-02 is especially well suited as the catching antibody in a sandwich ELISA in combination with BTE 002-18-02.

The BTE 002-08-02 epitope differs from that of BTE 002-18-02.

NOTE: Concentration is lot-dependent and can vary from 0.85-1.15 mg/mL

Target Information

Collagen type I is present in soft connective tissue and bone where it represents approximately 90% of the organix matrix. Collagen type I is produced from procollagen when two teloterminal propeptides are digested from the procursor and released into the circulation. The propeptide levels can be measured in serum as indicators of collagen production. Elevated values of these propeptides in serum are found in patients with various bone metabolism defects. Procollagen type I C-terminal propeptide (PICP) has a molecular weight of approximately 100 kDa and the normal range in serum depends on age and sex.
