Product Specific Information
- BTE 002-08-02 is specific for native PICP from human amniotic fluid.
- Crossreactivity to other species has not been determined.
- Successfully used in ELISA procedures.
- Especially well suited as the catching antibody in a sandwich ELISA in combination with BTE 002-18-02.
- The epitope differs from that of BTE 002-18-02.
- Concentration may vary by lot (0.85–1.15 mg/mL).
Target Information
Collagen type I is present in soft connective tissue and bone, representing approximately 90% of the organic matrix. It is produced from procollagen after digestion of two terminal propeptides, which are released into circulation.
Propeptide levels can be measured in serum as indicators of collagen production. Elevated serum values are observed in patients with bone metabolism defects.
Procollagen type I C-terminal propeptide (PICP) has a molecular weight of approximately 100 kDa, and its normal serum range depends on age and sex.
