Target Information
HMG20A acts as a chromatin-associated protein involved in neuronal differentiation.
It inhibits HMG20B, counteracts the repressive effects of the neuronal silencer REST, and activates neuronal-specific genes.
Additionally, it participates in the recruitment of histone methyltransferase KMT2A/MLL1, increasing methylation of histone H3 lysine 4.
