FAM3C는 227개의 아미노산으로 구성된 분비 단백질로, FAM3 패밀리와 서열 유사성을 가지는 새로운 사이토카인 유사 단백질군에 속합니다.
FAM3C는 GG 도메인, 소수성 리더 서열, N-말단 신호 펩타이드를 포함하며, 사이토카인 활성을 가지고 있습니다.
췌장암 유래 세포에서 발현 변화가 보고되었으며, 대부분의 조직에서 발현됩니다.
또한 FAM3C는 내이 발달에 중요한 역할을 하며, 배아 발생 중 세포 분화 및 증식에 관여할 수 있는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
