Target Information
Sm-like proteins were identified in a variety of organisms based on sequence homology with the Sm protein family (see SNRPD2).
These proteins contain the Sm sequence motif, consisting of two regions separated by a variable-length linker forming a loop.
Sm-like proteins form stable heteromers present in tri-snRNP particles, essential for pre-mRNA splicing.
