Specificity Comments:
Twenty human keratins are resolved with two-dimensional gel electrophoresis into acidic (pI 6.0) subfamilies. This antibody cocktail recognizes acidic (Type I or LMW) and basic (Type II or HMW) cytokeratins, including CK1 (67 kDa), CK3 (64 kDa), CK4 (59 kDa), CK5 (58 kDa), CK6 (56 kDa), CK8 (52 kDa), CK10 (56.5 kDa), CK14 (50 kDa), CK15 (50 kDa), CK16 (48 kDa), CK19 (40 kDa).
This broad-spectrum anti-pan-cytokeratin antibody differentiates epithelial from non-epithelial tumors (e.g., squamous vs. adeno carcinoma of lung, liver carcinoma, breast cancer, and esophageal cancer).
It is useful for characterizing neoplasm origin and studying cytokeratin distribution in normal and pathological epithelia.
Shows broad species reactivity.
Target Information
Cytokeratin pan is a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins found in human epithelial tissues, comprising at least 20 distinct polypeptides.
