Target Information
LAMP1 (CD107a, lysosome-associated membrane protein-1) is a major component of the lysosomal membrane and is also found on the plasma membrane. It is a heavily glycosylated type I integral membrane protein involved in lysosome biogenesis and lysosome-phagosome fusion. LAMP1 plays a role in cell adhesion and immune cell activation. Increased LAMP1 expression is associated with neuronal and glial cells in Alzheimer’s disease and is a useful marker for mast cell activation.
