Target Information
B cell linker protein (BLNK) is encoded by the BLNK gene on chromosome 10 in humans. Also known as SLP-65 (Src homology 2 domain-containing leukocyte protein of 65 kDa), BLNK acts as an adaptor protein in the B cell receptor signaling cascade. Studies have shown that B cell development is impaired in the absence of BLNK. BLNK is phosphorylated by Syk, a kinase activated by the B cell receptor, creating a platform for interaction with signaling intermediaries such as Vav GEF and Grb2.
