Product Specific Information

MP390 detects natural and recombinant TNF alpha, with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 25 kDa. This antibody does not cross-react with human or mouse TNFα, mouse TNFβ, or porcine TNFβ.

This is a carrier-free, low-endotoxin formulation (<1.0 EU/mg).

ELISA Application:
Can be used as a coating antibody in a sandwich ELISA (100 µg/well) with biotin-labeled TNFα monoclonal antibody (Product # M302B, 0.1–0.65 µg/mL).

Western Blot Application:
Successfully used with 0.02 µg/mL Biotin-conjugated Goat anti-Mouse IgG (Product # 31800), 0.05 µg/mL HRP-conjugated Streptavidin (Product # N100), and recombinant Porcine TNFα (Product # RPTNFAI). Visualization performed using SuperSignal™ West Pico Chemiluminescent Substrate (Product # 34080).

Endotoxin level tested by LAL assay and ≤10 EU/mg.

Target Information

TNF alpha is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine belonging to the TNF superfamily. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and binds to receptors TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. TNF alpha regulates immune responses, cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation.

It exists as multimeric complexes (dimers, trimers, or pentamers) and appears as a single 17 kDa band on SDS-PAGE under non-reducing conditions. Studies indicate TNF alpha’s role in immune defense, tumor necrosis, and neuroprotection. It has been implicated in autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer.
