Target Information
Maternal embryonic leucine-zipper kinase (MELK) is a key regulator of the survival of stem-like GBM cells in vitro. MELK expression is increased in breast cancer tissue and this increase is associated with poor patient survival, consistent with its role as a candidate oncogene.
