Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene contains a PDZ domain and a LIM domain, suggesting involvement in cytoskeletal assembly. It has been shown to bind spectrin-like repeats of alpha-actinin-2 and colocalize at the Z lines of skeletal muscle. Although located near a chromosome 4 region linked to facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy, this gene itself is not implicated in the disease. Two transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
