Target Information
MPP5 (Membrane Protein, Palmitoylated 5)는 신경발생(neurogenesis)과 조혈(hematopoiesis)에 중요한 역할을 하는 단백질입니다. 이 단백질은 상피세포와 뉴런에서 세포 극성(cell polarity)을 형성하고 유지하는 데 필수적이며, Par-3 복합체에 관여하여 상피세포의 타이트 접합(tight junction)을 유지합니다.
MPP5 유전자의 변이는 심각한 신경학적 손상, 전반적 발달 지연(GDD), 행동 변화와 관련이 있습니다. 동물 모델에서 MPP5는 다능성 전구세포의 초기 분화에 관여하며, 특히 골수 및 림프 계열 세포의 장기적 계통 특이적 발달을 지원합니다.
