Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature (RT).
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.
Target Information
GPC3 is a cell surface proteoglycan bearing heparan sulfate. It may be involved in suppression or modulation of growth in mesodermal tissues and organs, and may modulate IGF2 receptor interactions. Glypican family proteins are anchored via glycosyl phosphatidylinositol (GPI) linkage and play roles in cell division, growth regulation, and tumor predisposition.
Deletion mutations in GPC3 cause Simpson-Golabi-Behmel syndrome (SGBS), characterized by pre- and postnatal overgrowth with visceral and skeletal anomalies.
