Target Information
FOXA1 (also known as HNF3A) encodes a member of the forkhead class of DNA-binding proteins. These hepatocyte nuclear factors act as transcriptional activators for liver-specific transcripts such as albumin and transthyretin and interact with chromatin. In mice, similar family members are involved in metabolism regulation and differentiation of the pancreas and liver.
