Target Information
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) is a glycoprotein hormone composed of a common alpha subunit and a hormone-specific beta subunit. It is secreted by gonadotropic cells in the pituitary gland and, together with luteinizing hormone, plays a key role in egg and sperm production. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding the same protein.
