Target Information
Lysophospholipases act on biological membranes to regulate multifunctional lysophospholipids. The LYPLA3 protein hydrolyzes lysophosphatidylcholine to glycerophosphorylcholine and a free fatty acid. It is present in plasma and may be associated with high-density lipoprotein. A later study suggests this gene encodes a lysosomal enzyme with calcium-independent phospholipase A2 and transacylase activities.
