Target Information
BST2 (also known as CD317, HM1.24 antigen, DAMP-2, tetherin)은 B세포의 발달 및 성장에 관여하는 막관통 단백질입니다.
BST2는 fibroblast 세포주에서의 발현을 통해 pre-B-cell line(DW34)의 stromal cell 의존적 성장을 촉진합니다.
B세포 발달 단계(전구 B세포부터 형질세포까지), T세포, 단핵구, NK세포, 수지상세포, 골수종 세포 등에서 높은 수준으로 발현됩니다.
연구에 따르면 BST2는 인간 세포에서 레트로바이러스의 방출을 억제하며, HIV-1의 보조 단백질 Vpu에 의해 길항됩니다.
BST2는 바이러스 입자를 세포 표면에 유지하거나 BST2 양성 compartment로의 내포를 유도하며, BST2 결핍 시 Vpu의 필요성이 사라져 바이러스 방출이 가능해집니다.
이 특성은 HIV/AIDS 치료를 위한 잠재적 치료 전략으로 연구되고 있습니다.
또한 BST2의 기능 이상은 구내염(stomatitis)과도 관련이 있습니다.
