Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid and should be diluted only prior to immediate use.

Anti-Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase antibody is an IgG fraction purified from monospecific antiserum through delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography, followed by extensive dialysis against the specified buffer.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Goat Serum as well as purified and partially purified Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase [Leuconostoc mesenteroides].
Cross-reactivity against Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase from other tissues and species may occur but has not been specifically determined.

Target Information

This gene encodes glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, a cytosolic enzyme encoded by a housekeeping X-linked gene. Its main function is to produce NADPH, a key electron donor in defense against oxidizing agents and in reductive biosynthetic reactions.
G6PD exhibits remarkable genetic diversity, with many variants resulting from missense mutations that cause variable enzyme activity and clinical symptoms.
G6PD deficiency may lead to neonatal jaundice, acute hemolysis, or chronic non-spherocytic hemolytic anemia. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
