Target Information
CD200 is a type-1 membrane glycoprotein containing two immunoglobulin domains and belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is a broadly distributed cell surface glycoprotein that interacts with a receptor on myeloid cells (CD200R) and helps prevent macrophage activation locally. Homologues of CD200 are found in various herpesviruses and poxviruses. Mouse and rat studies suggest that CD200 regulates myeloid cell activity and delivers inhibitory signals to macrophage lineages in diverse tissues. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. CD200 dysfunction is associated with Mantle Cell Lymphoma and Primary Hypertrophic Osteoarthropathy.
