Invitrogen™ ProcartaPlex™ Human Liver Toxicity Panel 2, 5plex

The ProcartaPlex Human Liver Toxicity Panel 2, 5plex enables hepatotoxicity research by analyzing six protein targets in a single well using Luminex xMAP technology.
Simultaneous detection of these targets helps gain information about liver function and hepatotoxicity during drug development studies.

The panel is provided in a ready-to-use format with individual vials of capture and detection reagents formulated at 1X concentration, requiring less pipetting and setup.
It is not combinable with simplexes or other panels.
This panel complements the ProcartaPlex Human Liver Toxicity Panel 1, 6plex (Cat. No. EPX060-15857-901), which provides five additional protein targets in the same research area.

ProcartaPlex preconfigured panels are extensively tested for analyte combinability, interference, and cross-reactivity to ensure high validation and precision.
All ProcartaPlex panels are supplied with the necessary reagents to perform the assay.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single 25–50 μL sample from plasma, serum, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids.

The Luminex MagPlex superparamagnetic microsphere beads are internally dyed with precise proportions of red and infrared fluorophores to create 100 spectrally unique signatures identifiable by Luminex detection systems (Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, MAGPIX).

Similar to a sandwich ELISA, the ProcartaPlex assay uses matched antibody pairs to identify proteins of interest. Each bead is labeled with antibodies specific for a single target, and bound proteins are detected with biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE).
This allows multiplexed analysis of multiple targets in a single well.

Unlike ELISA, the capture antibody in the ProcartaPlex assay is conjugated to a magnetic bead rather than adsorbed to a microplate well, making the reagents free-floating in solution.
Detection is achieved by two lasers in the Luminex instrument—one distinguishing bead signatures and the other quantifying RPE fluorescence proportional to protein concentration.

ProcartaPlex multiplex assays enable profiling of more target proteins with less sample volume and shorter assay time compared to traditional ELISA.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available in multiple formats across six species: human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine.
