Target Information
The CDX2 gene encodes an epsilon subunit of the coatomer protein complex. This cytosolic complex binds to dilysine motifs and associates reversibly with Golgi non-clathrin-coated vesicles. It is essential for budding from Golgi membranes and for retrograde Golgi-to-ER transport of dilysine-tagged proteins. The coatomer complex consists of at least alpha, beta, beta’, gamma, delta, epsilon, and zeta subunits. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
