Target Information
Aldh3A2는 aldehyde dehydrogenase superfamily의 구성원으로, 다양한 지방족 및 방향족 알데하이드를 산화시키는 NAD(P)(+)-의존 효소입니다. 이 효소군은 알코올 대사 및 지질 과산화에 의해 생성된 알데하이드의 해독에 중요한 역할을 합니다. Aldh3A2는 장쇄 지방족 알데하이드를 지방산으로 산화시키며, 해당 유전자의 돌연변이는 Sjogren-Larrson syndrome을 유발합니다. 이 질환은 피부 건조증(ichthyosis), 정신 지체, 경직성 양하지마비(spastic diplegia)를 특징으로 하며, 피부 및 뇌막에서의 비정상적인 지질 축적, 알데하이드-Schiff 염기 부착물 형성, 또는 eicosanoid 대사 이상과 관련이 있습니다.
