Product Specific Information
- MA1-118 was successfully used to detect E18 Sprague Dawley primary cortical neurons.
- Suitable for immunofluorescence analysis of beta III tubulin in ectoderm derived from human embryonic stem cells.
- Western blot analysis detects an ~50 kDa protein in neuronal-type cells. In bovine samples, an additional ~32 kDa band may appear.
- Specific for beta-3 Tubulin; non-reactive to lysates from non-neuronal cell types (e.g., HeLa cell lysate).
Target Information
The betaIII-tubulin isoform is dominantly expressed in cells of neuronal origin and serves as one of the earliest markers of neuronal differentiation. It is a specific probe for neuronal cells and tumors derived from them. BetaIII-tubulin is most abundant in neuronal cells but can also be found in Sertoli cells of the testis and transiently in non-neuronal embryonic tissues.
