Target Information
BST2 (CD317, HM1.24 antigen, DAMP-2, tetherin)은 B세포의 성장과 발달에 관여하는 막단백질입니다. BST2는 B세포 발달 단계에서 높은 수준으로 발현되며, T세포, 단핵구, NK세포, 수지상세포 및 골수종 세포에서도 단백질 수준에서 발현됩니다.
연구에 따르면 BST2는 인간 세포에서 레트로바이러스 방출을 억제하는 기능을 가지며, HIV-1의 Vpu 단백질에 의해 길항됩니다. BST2의 결핍은 Vpu의 필요성을 제거하여 바이러스 방출을 촉진하며, 이는 HIV/AIDS 치료 전략으로 활용될 가능성이 있습니다. 또한 BST2 기능 이상은 구내염(stomatitis)과 관련이 있습니다.
