OCC-1 (Overexpressed in colon carcinoma-1)은 대장암 세포주에서 과발현된 새로운 인간 cDNA로 처음 확인되었습니다. 8개의 대장암 중 3개에서 OCC-1 mRNA의 발현이 높게 나타나, OCC-1이 일부 대장암의 표지일 가능성이 제시되었습니다.
이 단백질은 골격근, 신장, 태반, 췌장에서 높게 발현되며, 심장, 뇌, 폐, 간에서는 낮거나 거의 발현되지 않습니다. 최소 두 가지 형태의 OCC-1 mRNA가 존재하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
