Product Specific Information
The monoclonal antibody 9ACT12 reacts with human Act1 (NF-kappaB activator 1), also known as CIKS (connection to IkB kinase and stress-activated kinase). Act1 is involved in NF-κB activation and interacts directly with IKKγ. It plays multiple roles in immunity, acting as a negative regulator of CD40 and BAFFR signaling in B cells, reducing survival through direct interaction with TRAF3.
Additionally, Act1 participates in IL-17R signaling, interacting with IL-17RA via the SEFIR domain, essential for NF-κB and C/EBP-mediated inflammatory responses.
- Applications Reported: Immunoblotting (WB)
- Applications Tested: Human peripheral blood cell lysates (1–5 µg/mL recommended)
- Purity: >90% (SDS-PAGE)
- Aggregation: <10% (HPLC)
- Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered
Target Information
This gene encodes a protein regulating cytokine responses via the Rel/NF-κB transcription factor family, central to innate immunity against pathogens and stress. The gene product interacts with TRAF proteins, I-kappaB kinase, or MAP kinase to activate NF-κB or Jun kinase pathways.
Three transcript variants have been identified, one of which acts in a regulatory role by reducing expression of protein-coding transcripts.
