Target Information
EHD1 is involved in early endocytic membrane fusion and trafficking of recycling endosomes. It also contributes to myoblast fusion and is recruited to endosomal membranes upon nerve growth factor stimulation, indirectly regulating neurite outgrowth. EHD1 belongs to a conserved gene family encoding EPS15 homology (EH) domain-containing proteins, which are important for protein-protein interactions and intracellular sorting. The EHD1 protein is implicated in the endocytosis of IGF1 receptors. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified for the EHD1 gene.
