Target Information
KIF14 유전자는 미세소관 모터 단백질인 kinesin-3 초가족에 속하는 단백질을 암호화합니다. 이 단백질은 소포 수송, 염색체 분리, 유사분열 방추 형성, 세포질분열 등 다양한 과정에 관여합니다. 인간 HeLa-S3 및 293T 세포에서 이 단백질은 간기 동안 세포질에, 유사분열 중 방추극 및 방추 미세소관에, 세포질분열 중에는 중체(midbody)에 위치합니다. 내부 모터 도메인은 미세소관 의존적 ATPase 활성을 나타내며, 이는 모터 단백질로서의 기능과 일치합니다. 이 유전자의 발현 억제는 세포질분열 실패와 다핵세포 형성을 초래합니다. 또한 유방암, 폐암, 난소암, 망막모세포종, 신경교종 등에서 잠재적 종양유전자로 확인되었습니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 여러 전사체 변이가 생성됩니다.
