DRP1 (Dynamin-related protein 1)는 인간 미토콘드리아 분열에 관여하는 단백질로, 정상 상태 및 세포자멸사(apoptosis) 동안 미토콘드리아의 분열에 중요한 역할을 합니다. DRP1은 미토콘드리아의 세포 내 분포에 필수적이며, 돌연변이 뉴런에서는 시냅스에서 미토콘드리아가 거의 존재하지 않아 시냅스 기능 연구에 유용한 유전적 도구로 사용됩니다.
